Here are some worthwhile links that came across my desk today. Check them out.

Nora Ephron's thoughts on aging. Known as a wicked social critic and story teller, the director of Sleepless in Seattle has something to say to you about saggy necks and life in her new book. Here's a bit about it from Salon.

I loved this musing out of Kansas City on aging bikers. It begins, "The biker's face looked pale. His substantial belly poked from below his T-shirt. He struggled to talk."

Try this for insight into Latin America's elder statesmen, Castro and Hugo Chavez. It's an era we grew up with that is inexorably winding down.

AIDS is still of great concern. Not all patients are youngsters. Read how the aging profile of victims is causing new concerns.

Dementia: Blood sugar may have an effect on cognitive ability. Info from a study of elderly women.

Grandparents parenting. Out of Australia, an interesting article on the help needed in those families.

In that same vein, take note of Chemung County New York, responding to the amazing 143,000 families headed by grandparents in that state. They have begun a series of free workshops to help grandparents with parenting challenges. Bravo - let's see more counties and municipalities do the same. Pass the info to your county agency on aging!

Gallia County, OH had a huge surprise for VP Cheney. They found his great grandparents' gravesite. Sounds like a TV reality show, doesn't it?

Closet gamers? PopCap, one of the largest producers of family-friendly, non-violent online video games, says 32% of their customer base are over 50 years old. Ok, admit it - how many of you have a hard drive full of games? (Red faced, I put my hand in the air.)
